Meet The Box Community’s Newest Ambassador, Chase Frankenfeld!

The team at The Box Community is extremely excited and proud to announce Chase Frankenfeld as our newest TBC Ambassador!

Chase is a competitive and hyper active individual. He gets his release through competitive CrossFit out of CrossFit Moorabbin. He has been fortunate to compete as both a team and individual at the Australia CrossFit Regionals in 2014 and 2016 respectively.

Although Chase loves CrossFit, he may be more of a nerd. He spends his days working is Finance doing Company Valuations, and expects to get admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria as qualified lawyer in June 2017. In his spare time he even teaches himself computer programming.

On top of this, his Personality Test results say he is a “Joyful Person”. It says he is “attracted to and values joy, variety and excitement… and seeks to make the world a more delightful place to live in”.

Chase would like to know if this is true or not. So if you ever see him – please say hi and let him know what you think.

Or just follow him on Instagram @alwaysonthechase and post him a comment.

 Chase Frankenfeld

Name: Chase Frankenfeld

Age: 25

Sports I Do / Did: I have never really followed any sport except skateboarding. If you can even really follow it…. hahaha. I grew up wishing and dreaming I would become a professional skateboarder. Skateboarding every second I had the opportunity.

Favourite CrossFit athlete: I have a lot of respect for a lot of CrossFit Athletes. Particularly those who have competed at high levels for several years. The mental and physical durability that these people have is second to none. It is hard to appreciate until you have tried to train and live the life they live for any period of time.

I have two favourite athletes.

Some guy name “Kyle Frankenfeld”. Let me be honest. I would have never tried CrossFit if he had never started his gym. I came back to Melbourne one summer while studying in Canberra. I think we were going to dinner as a family that night. He turns to me says, “By the way. I started a gym”. I didn’t believe him. It wasn’t until we went to the gym that I had no choice but to believe him.

Now to actually answering your question. The reason he is one of my favourites is half the things I have ever done have been because of him. He is my personal inspiration. He is the only person who can make me feel bad about what I eat, missing a training session and not giving everything my best effort.

Secondly, Tia-Clair Toomey. The brief few times I have had the luxury of meeting her; she is the most humble, sincere and kind person you will ever be privileged enough to meet. Her life balance, working, and relationship with her partner, is something everyone should aspire to achieve.

Favourite WOD & why? I don’t have a favourite WOD. If you asked me last year, I would likely have said any workout with lifting. Today though, I love any training session on the beach with family and friends. Every Saturday we train on the beach, then go get breakfast together. This accentuates what CrossFit is to me. The ability for everyone, no matter what ability or age, to get out of the gym, train together, and enjoy in each other’s company.

Favourite post mod meal? I don’t have any post wod meals in particular. I’m pretty happy if I have a coffee though.

Have you always excelled at sport? I would say that I have always been very good most sports that I chose to do. I have never been the best though. I am hyper competitive. I struggle to take part in a sport if I am real shit (pardon the lack of nicety). As a result, my favourite, kind of joking saying is, “don’t be shit”. I don’t like putting anyone down though, so this evolved into “Just be better”. I think this is a great metaphor for life though. So long as you are always striving to be better. You can only succeed.

What got you involved in the sport of CrossFit? My brother!

What are your goals for 2017: 2017 is a year of achieving balance in life in all aspects. I work in Finance doing Company Valuations. I train as much as I can. I am always trying to learn new skills on the side. Currently, computer programming. I am completing a course to get admitted to the Victorian Supreme Court as a lawyer. Simultaneously, I am trying to maintain all my various relationships. From a CrossFit perspective, CrossFit Moorabbin is working hard to get a team to regionals this year. That is my goal; I want to be a part of this team.

Favourite quotes:

“If one person is a bastard, then they are a bastard. If everyone is a bastard, then you are a bastard” – Tim Ferris

“If you communicate something to someone, and they don’t understand. It is always your fault” – Simon Sinek

“Two men looked out from prison bars. One saw the mud, the other saw stars.” – Dale Carnegie

 My ethos: Always be chasing.
